An opportunity now exists for a talented junior lawyer to join this top national firm's Energy, Resources & Projects practice. The firm offers a competitive remuneration structure, performance incentive scheme as well as superb support and mentoring. It has one of the more prominent Energy & Resources practice and you will be will be surrounded by like-minded individuals who are focussed on success. The firm is ideally looking for lawyers who have a sound knowledge of contract law as well as other areas such as mining, oil & gas or electricity, the Corporations Law, and some understanding of related practice areas. As well as having acted in basic energy and resources transactions through supporting partners and senior associates, you may have had some exposure to basic corporate transactions such as:
- purchase or sale of assets and shares;
- JV and shareholder agreements - familiar with pre-emption rights, tag-along rights, drag-along rights;
- complex advice;
- due diligence report; and
- corporate documents, such as ASIC forms, board minutes, closing memoranda and ancillary documents.
Salary will be top of the range for this level as will the work quality, client exposure and opportunities for personal growth and career development.

The resources team at this award winning Queensland firm has a strong oil and gas practice, with growing exposure to work within the coal and minerals sectors. While the team has an onshore focus, it has increasingly assisted on offshore, interstate and overseas projects. This role requires either mining and resources expertise or experience in the areas of corporate, property or general commercial law preferably including some exposure to resources work. Client management and contact will be a key requirement and the role would also involve mentoring younger lawyers in the practice.
